In the first part of this feature, we hear from Ely Khakshouri, the CEO of Retrospec. Retrospec is a brand that creates products for outdoor hobbies like bicycles, paddleboards, skateboards, and more.
Ely discusses how many people are glued to their technology and digital forms of entertainment – the focus is moving away from outdoor hobbies, and he believes that’s poor for people’s mental health and socialization. To do something about it, Retrospec was born.
In college, Ely would convert old bikes at yard sales into working bikes with very little work. 20 dollars and a little elbow grease could turn into close to a thousand dollars.
He found out how to make his own bikes and would give them to local sellers. That’s when he realized the incredible demand for his product.
In Part 1, we hear about the birth of Retrospec and learn more about Ely’s background.
