“To raise the cultural perception of the value of Mexican goods” that’s the purpose behind Nopalera. In part 1, we have Sandra Velasquez, Founder of Nopalera, a Mexican botanical bath, and body line.

Sandra went to a music school, led a band called Pistolera (see them on NPR’s Tiny Desk), and has been a musician her entire life. After losing her day job, she came to realize that she could continue her mission of sharing her culture not just through music but through launching a consumer brand. To her, building muscles to deal with rejection helped her in making this switch.

The brand launched in the middle of the pandemic. It’s not just to promote and elevate Mexican products but also to help the Latino community. She also mentions that access to capital and the right mindset is necessary for business.

She talked about:

* Gratefulness
* Overview of the brand
* Her background
* Her turning point
* What holds people back

Join Ramon Vela and Sandra Velasquez as they break down the inside story on The Story of a Brand.
